FIELD: processing of organic substances: wood, industrial and domestic wastes containing organic components. SUBSTANCE: method consists in packing and heating organic substances in dispersed state in gas shield. Thermal processing is effected due to heating to temperature not below decomposition temperature at simultaneous continuous packing in the course of heating by pressing the material between heated surfaces; shield is formed by gases generated at decomposition of materials at shortage of oxidizer. EFFECT: reduction of power requirements at rate corresponding to maximum rate of delivery of required amount of heat. 2 dwg
