PROCESS OF HYDRAULIC COMMINUTION OF FRAGMENTS OF MIXED SOLID ROCKET FUEL AND GEAR FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: utilization of ammunition, utilization of charges of mixed solid rocket fuels and explosives. SUBSTANCE: starting material in the form of coarsely dispersed aqueous suspension is loaded into comminution chamber of gear formed by perforated jacket in the form of truncated cone and baffle plate creating wall jet along surface of baffle plate. High- speed liquid cavitation jet is directed from nozzle installed in upper part of truncated cone along its axis into comminution chamber. This jet forms cavitation cloud in zone of moderation near surface of baffle plate together with jet of suspension of starting material moving along baffle plate. Interaction of wall jet and high-speed jet with cavitation cloud in zone of baffle plate, of return streams of jets with perforated wall of cone and of slipstreams of these jets with boundary layer of fresh high-speed liquid jet results in intensive comminution of material. Comminuted material and water are discharged from comminution chamber through perforations which size and number specify degree of comminution and pressure differential along sides of perforated wall. EFFECT: ecologically clean, fast and non-expensive comminution of starting material with simultaneous dissolution of separated target ingredient in working fluid. 5 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
