FIELD: sanitary and hygienic articles. SUBSTANCE: absorbing structure has layer of absorbing material of cellulose filaments and layer of highly mellowed material of synthetic filaments. Two layer are held together in mutually integrated position by filaments of absorbing material penetrating into cavities in highly mellowed material. Method involves forming mat directly on highly mellowed material located on grid, under which suction casing is positioned for drawing air downward; providing drawing of filaments downward by air flow. As a result, filaments penetrate deep into highly mellowed material. EFFECT: improved strength of absorbing articles due to good contact between layers. 7 cl, 4 dwg
