DRIVE OF COAL SAW Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry, excavation of coal strata with use of flexible cutting tools, specifically, coal saws. SUBSTANCE: drive of coal saw includes frame carrying two power hydraulic cylinders of saw motion coupled by rods and cables through blocks to saw and device for saw compression. Device for saw compression comes in the form of two weights, each weight being attached to mobile block suspended from hoisting cable. One end of cable is passed through wedge clamp, passes over second mobile block and is linked to one end of coal saw, its second end is fixed in drum of winch. Second mobile block is suspended from drive cable of saw in one of hydraulic cylinders. Wedge clamp ensures mobility of hoisting cable for weight lowering. EFFECT: simplified design and raised operational reliability of drive. 2 dwg
