FIELD: testing technology; conducting tests in laboratories simulating impact action of stem of ramming ship on hull structural member.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in conducting model tests on impact stand. Model of submarine compartment subjected to impact is made in form of semi-envelope whose edges are rigidly secured on bearing bulkheads along generatrices. Used as test stand is vertical impact tester. Wedge-shaped striker of vertical impact tester is made in form of fore extremity of ramming ship.
EFFECT: simplified procedure; low cost.
