FIELD: plastic metal working, namely processes for finishing and strengthening outer cylindrical surfaces at applying to tool twisting ultrasonic oscillations. SUBSTANCE: method for finishing-strengthening outer cylindrical surfaces of rotating parts comprises steps of acting upon surface of part by means of tool with deforming member moving along worked part at making twisting ultrasonic oscillations and simultaneously moving according to two coordinate values in plane tangent relative to part. Method allows to enhance deformation degree of surface layer, to shorten time period for running-in rubbing parts, to receive different types of partially regular and regular microrelieves of rubbing machine parts, to increase their wear resistance up to necessary value at less working costs and, therefore to improve reliability and to increase operational time period. Mean value of cold-hardening degree of worked surface increases up to 35%, depth of strengthened layer changes in range 0.4 - 1.25 mm.
