SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of plastically deforming parts of iron-carbon alloys by means of tool and simultaneously passing electric current through contact zone of tool with worked surface; deforming surface layer at moving tool relative to worked surface at rate and lengthwise feed values providing desired arrangement of white layer fragments and performing chemical or electrochemical etching of non-strengthened zones of surface layer by depth of forming oil recesses. EFFECT: possibility for receiving surface with regular microrelief having predetermined parameters. 4 dwg
