FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vibration protection facilities and can be used for damping vibrations of vehicle and converting energy of vibrations into electric energy. Proposed hydraulic shock absorber has housing filled up with magnetorheological liquid and fitted-in cylinder with magnetic bottom, channels and rod with magnetic piston. Inductance coils are installed on housing and cylinder. Cover with seal is provided with magnetic element. magnetic element and cover are provided with channels getting into housing space and providing closed flow of magneorheological liquid.
