METHOD FOR BOMB-AIMING Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2204106 C2

FIELD: methods for bomb-aiming of ground targets from a flight vehicle and at landing of objects from a flight vehicle. SUBSTANCE: preliminarily on a ground station the geographic coordinates of its location are determined, the digital map of the terrain with the height of its relief angle of dip are introduced in the ground station computer. Ballistic information, angle of dip are preliminarily introduced in the flight vehicle. In the course of bomb-aiming on the ground station the coordinates of the ground targets relative to the ground station are measured, the geographic coordinates of the ground targets are computed and transmitted to the flight vehicle through the radio channel. At the flight vehicle the geographic coordinates of the ground targets and the radio emission from the earth artificial satelites of the satelite navigation system are received, the geographic coordinates of location of the flight vehicle and the ground speed (W) of the flight vehicle are determined, the current values of altitude H and flight speed V, magnetic azimuth and the angle of pitch of the flight vehicle longitudinal axis angles of attack and slip of the flight vehicle are determined. On the basis of this information the current values of the target speed, wind speed, the requred values of range Rreq between the flight vehicle and the ground targets at the instant of bomb drop or landed object and board angle Freq. of the ground target, current values of the range dR between the required range and dF between Rreq and R and dF between Frequired and F are computer, and the flight vehicle flight direction is changed until the zero value of dF is attained, and the bomb is dropped or object landing is performed when the zero value of dR is attained. EFFECT: bomb-aiming is possible at any time of day and in any weather conditions of low-contrast ground targets. 6 dwg
