FIELD: testing of rocks by investigation of electromagnetic fields radiated by rocks in process of break-down. SUBSTANCE: method to investigate electromagnetic radiation of solid body in the form of bar deformed to failure consists in installation of bar on bed, in use of capacitive pickup which one capacitor plate has shape of plate mounted on base of bed and is connected to recording system and which another capacitor plate is grounded, in deformation of mentioned bar by application of external load to its upper end with the aid of loading unit that includes mobile support with socket housing upper end of deformed bar and immobile support with socket housing lower end of this bar, in conversion of electromagnetic radiation signal originated by deformed bar in this case with the help of mentioned capacitive pickup and in its registration by recording system. Another plate is employed as second capacitor plate of capacitive pickup. Plates are installed on base of bed on insulation spacers. Deformed bar is positioned between capacitor plates of capacitive pickup. Bending external force is cyclically applied in opposite directions to upper end of deformed bar installed in socket made in face of mobile support used as lever of lever system of loading unit with the use of this lever which moves in vertical plane passing through axial lines of mentioned lever and socket of immobile support of lever system of loading unit. EFFECT: possibility of investigation of electromagnetic radiation signals emerged with deformation of solid bodies in the form of bar by bending force cyclically applied in fixed plane. 2 cl, 3 dwg
