FIELD: reception of satellite translations. SUBSTANCE: antenna positioning signal is shaped as audio signal supplied to sound reproducer connected to satellite receiver. Audio signal complies with continuous tone when number of errors is smaller than predetermined threshold value. Antenna elevation is set according to geographical position of terrain. In the process antenna azimuth is coarsely adjusted by turning antenna at slight increments to estimate region wherein continuous tone is heard. Fine adjustment procedure is commenced as soon as continuous signal starts sounding in which case antenna is turned to find boundaries of azimuth arc within which continuous signal is heard. After that antenna is positioned approximately in center between arc boundaries. EFFECT: simplified adjustment. 9 cl, 4 dwg
