FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: linen drum has wall fabricated from sheet steel and provided with through openings for passage of treating medium. Openings are formed by means of cut-out needles of cut-out tool. Portions adjoining to openings are made in the form of tulip or truncated cone, and opening edges are flattened. Diameter of said portions is twice as large as diameter of openings and diameter of openings is larger than that of cut-out needles. Tool for manufacture of linen drum has directed needle and counter support arranged at the level below wall of sheet steel. Cut-out needle is located in stamping casing so that it adjoins wall of sheet steel and extends to stamping casing. The latter is provided with chamfered end having diameter smaller than outer diameter of portions surrounding said openings. Linen drum openings have burrs providing maximal safety for finger tips and for linen fibers tending to be caught through openings on outer edge burrs.
