FIELD: medicine, oncology. SUBSTANCE: the suggested method and diagnostic kits deal with detecting gastric cancer at pre-cancer phase at high accuracy. One should histologically detect the increased risk for gastric cancer development due to studying patient's sample including gastric mucosal cells and pre-cancer lesions in case of gastric carcinoma to detect there expression of mRNA cyclooxyganse-2 (COXY-2) or COXY-2 protein, at high levels of this expression it is possible to conclude on increased risk for gastric cancer development against control samples. Diagnostic kits contain, in one case, reagents to detect PNA or poly-A+mRNA, specific COXY-2 primers for OT-PCR and kDNA fragments to prepare pilot DNA or RNA, in another case, COXY-2-specific polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies, specific peptides of binding affinity to COXY-2, or oligonucleotides of binding affinity to COXY-2.
