FIELD: wind power technology, possibly wind operated power plants converting wind power to electric energy for autonomous user or for local electric network. SUBSTANCE: wind operated power plant includes wind-driven wheel with horizontal rotation shaft. The last is kinematically joined with rotor of electric power generator and it is arranged on rotary head mounted with possibility of rotation around vertical axis of supporting column. Plant also includes drive unit for driving and arresting wind-driven wheel; said drive unit is in the form of boss with radially arranged rotary blades kinematically joined with centrifugal spring type regulator of revolution number of wind-driven wheel. According to invention rotary head includes frame supporting electric power generator, bearing cases of shaft of wind- driven wheel and drive unit for driving and arresting wind-driven wheel. Boss of wind-driven wheel is secured to flange of one end of shaft of wind-driven wheel and it is in the form of welded trihedral truncated pyramid. On faces of said pyramid axles of rotary blades of wind- driven wheel are mounted with weights rigidly secured to them. In central trough opening of boss there is spring of centrifugal spring-type regulator of revolution number of wind-driven wheel. One end of said spring rests upon flange of boss; at other end spring is pressed by means of coupling for rotating blades around their axles. Said coupling is joined through cranks and controlled-length tie rods with axles of blades and it is mounted on one end of tie rod of drive unit arranged in central opening of hollow shaft of wind-driven wheel. Shaft of wind-driven wheel and rotor of electric power generator are joined by means of intermediate shaft with disc brake having housing secured to frame. In said housing on intermediate shaft disc is mounted for engaging at braking process with braking shoes joined with drive unit. The last includes coupling for driving and arresting wind-driven wheel; said coupling is mounted on frame with possibility of axial motion along axis of shaft of wind-driven wheel and it is joined with second end of tie rod of drive unit. EFFECT: enlarged assortment of technical means used for making wind operated power plant, improved accuracy of controlling enhanced starting characteristics of wind-driven wheel, enhanced operational reliability and safety, simplified design and maintenance. 4 cl, 1 dwg
