FIELD: electrical engineering; motors for ground-based and water transport, flying vehicles, and space engineering. SUBSTANCE: motor has case with insulating ports accommodating one end of armature in the form of pin-shaped piezoid carrying on its extension cylindrical metal resonator and microwave transit-time avalanche diode whose active semiconductor layer resides in center of resonating plane. In the course of operation piezoid and microwave transit-time avalanche diode are connected to dc voltage supply through variable resistor so that they compose relaxation generator and motor thrust is effected by periodic actuation of resonator with aid of electric field due to electromagnetic- wave excited in resonating plane of microwave transit-time avalanche diode; motor control simply boils down to varying the value of mentioned resistor. Motor is characterized in that it has no revolving or moving parts and is designed for direct electrical-to-mechanical energy conversion. EFFECT: reduced size and mass, enhanced operating reliability of motor. 1 cl, 3 dwg
