FIELD: rescue equipment. SUBSTANCE: rescue spool has casing made in the form of cylinder closed with end covers and adapted for accommodation of spool with rope mounted inside cylinder for rotation on pin fixed with its ends in end covers. According to first embodiment, spool has hydraulic, centrifugal and emergency disk-type brakes, according to second version spool has only hydraulic and centrifugal brakes. Hydraulic brake having elastic brake chamber filled with brake fluid is fixed on inner surface of case and end cover and comprises rollers, which squeeze brake chamber made in the form of detachable ring connectable with its ends to brake fluid supply and discharge hoses. Centrifugal brake contains brake shoes. Emergency brake has inner and outer disks. Brake shoes are mounted in boxes with spherical members fixed on end surface of spool or on inner disk of emergency disk-type brake and are retained in initial position by gauged springs. Rescue spools may be used by firemen or by people to be rescued as a means for evacuating people from upper floors of burning multi-staged buildings.
