FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: water to be treated is passed in downward direction successively through floating inert material bed, organics-absorption bed of anionite resin in Cl- form to remove organics, and cationite resin bed in Na+ or H+ form (disposed immediately under anionite bed) to remove cationic impurities. Density and granulometric composition of ion-exchange materials ensure separation of beds. Ion-exchange materials are periodically regenerated by regeneration solution, in particular NaCl and/or HCl solution, passed in upward direction successively through both ion-exchange beds disposed below floating bed of inert material. EFFECT: enabled removal of organics and cations in the same filter and achieved maximum utilization of all constituents of regeneration solution. 4 cl, 2 dwg
