FIELD: methods of regeneration of ionite in counter-flow filter; purification of water and aqueous solution in power engineering; chemical and other industries. SUBSTANCE: mixture of air with water to be purified is fed to central chamber of counter-flow filter upwards from below for forcing it to free space between inert material and central chamber, for flushing the auxiliary layer of ionite and for clamping main layer of ionite located in peripheral chamber of filter; then regenerative solution is introduced upwards from below into main and then to forced-out auxiliary layers of ionite; after passing 20 to 80 % of volume of regenerating solution to central chamber, mixture of waste regenerative solution with water being cleaned is fed to central chamber. It is good practice to supply all mixtures by means of water-jet pump which uses water being cleaned as active medium supplied at pressure of 0.2 to 1.0 MPa. EFFECT: complete removal of contaminants from auxiliary layer which enhances efficiency of protection of main layer against contamination; low cost of process due to reduced consumption of regenerative solution during repeated use. 6 cl, 3 dwg, ex
