FIELD: purification of water and aqueous solutions by ion exchange. SUBSTANCE: device has a housing, layer of floating inert material, cylindrical partition coaxially installed in the housing with formation of free space between the layer of inert material and partition edge, main layer of ion exchanger located in the annular space between the housing and cylindrical partition, and an auxiliary layer of ion exchanger located inside the latter, water to be purified is fed by two flows. The first flow is directed upwards to the auxiliary layer of ion exchanger, transferred to the free space above the main layer, and then jointly with the second flow it is passed through the main layer downwards. EFFECT: protection of the main layer of ion exchanger against its pollution by suspended particles. 4 cl, 1 dwg
