FIELD: repairing processes, possibly restoration of crank shafts of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: lateral surfaces of jaws ajoining to crankpin are subjected to normalizing along the whole perimeter and simultaneously predetermined zones of lateral surfaces of cranpins at side of detected direction of twisting are subjected to quenching by means of jet of cooling fluid. In order to enhance efficiency of method modes of heating and parameters of cooling fluid are selected according to recommended modes of heat treatment of materials of crank shafts. Modes and parameters of zones of thermic influence are corrected on base of experimental data depending upon value of detected twisting degree. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of spatial geometry of crank shafts, increased useful time period due to increased number of repaired dimensions at restoration. 1 dwg
