FIELD: mining; applicable in underground mining of mineral beds. SUBSTANCE: method includes separation of bed into levels, driving of subdrifts separating levels into sublevels, driving of crosscuts, coal breaking in sublevels by hydraulic giants, full caving of enclosing rocks in gob spaces in carrying- out of sloping operations and bypassing of caved enclosing rocks into gob space of underlying sublevels. Claimed method differs from known ones by the fact that in upper part of sublevels, mineral bed is loosened, for instance, by bed hydraulic fracturing and thickness of loosened thickness of coal in sublevel inclined height and working length of hydraulic giant jet. Loosening of mineral bed is performed with nonreduced leading of sloping operations in worked sublevels whose value is determined by offered expression. Realization of claimed method makes it possible to reduce expenditures for driving of development workings and to enhance safety of labor of miners. EFFECT: higher efficiency of method. 1 dwg, 1 ex
