The means for measuring calorific power of the supplied gas has unit for measuring sound propagation velocity in gas and additionally has unit for measuring the first value of heat conductance at the first temperature and unit for measuring the second value of heat conductance at the second temperature usable for calculating calorific power of the gas corresponding to the measured sound propagation velocity and the first and the second value of heat conductance.
