FIELD: building industry branches, namely manufacture of metallic reservoirs for storing liquid and loose products. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making coiled blank from wide band; shaping cylindrical housing by bending coiled blank to helix in shaping apparatus and simultaneously joining its abutting lengthwise edges; reinforcing ready housing by means of helical rigidity ribs with pitch equal to width of coiled blank; leveling ends of housing and securing to them bottom and cover respectively; making coiled bank by fluid-tightly securing to band surface strip whose width is no more than 1/7 of width of band and extending said strip outside end edges of band for placing it onto pads having length no less than width of strip and preliminarily fastened to end edges of band; forming hollow rigidity ribs by deforming strip and part of band under it. It is possible to make coiled blank of variable-thickness band and to fluid-tightly secure to it strips with thickness no more than that of band.
