FIELD: petrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: high- silica ZSM-5-type zeolite catalyst is pretreated at 450-520 C by paraffin hydrocarbons C3-C4 mixed with a mercaptan in such proportion (0.08- 0.85%) as to ensure that amount of mercaptan passed through catalyst were 0.01 to 0.1% of the weight of catalyst. After that, mixture of paraffin hydrocarbons C1-C5 is brought into contact with catalyst at 400-550 C and product is separated into liquid and gas fractions. Gaseous hydrocarbons are burned in presence of catalyst to give carbon dioxide/water steam mixture, which is added to starting hydrocarbon mixture.
