FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: according to invention, engine contains timing mechanism, flywheel, pass change-over device, finely atomized fuel injection system, cooling, lubricating, supply, ignition and mixing system, inlet and outlet air ducts, cylinder with piston and combustion chamber arranged in housing. Engine is made in form of module, each module contains additionally flywheel rotor, cam-eccentric mechanism to engage with piston, piston return mechanism, working pressure setting mechanism, outlet through which exhaust gases get out, system of deflectors made in form of cavities and projections engaging with holes of outlet nozzle, system of end face seals engaging with flywheel rotor and housing, and chemical components introduction and injection system. Working pressure setting mechanism is coupled with pass change-over device made in form of straight-through valve and spring and interacting with chemical components introduction and injection system. Depending on method of preparation of fuel mixture and type of fuel used, multipurpose rotary engine converts hear energy into mechanical work directly on flywheel rotor.
