FIELD: mining and oil producing industries. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for damping vibrations, preventing pendulum effect, protecting electric cable from mechanical damages in electric centrifugal pumping units with suspension of tubings in oil and gas producing and water lifting wells. According to invention, housing of shock absorber is made of elastic material in form of piston and is provided with ring sectors also made of elastic material being distributed over outer surface at definite pitch. Open longitudinal slots of hydraulic coupling for passing of working medium and fitting of electric cable of electric centrifugal pump are made in shock absorber housing in direction of axis of tubing suspension. Diameter of central hole in shock absorber housing is equal to diameter of outer surface of tubing. Outer surface of ring sectors engages at designed interference with inner surface of tubing in well. Ring groove is made in shock absorber housing for fastening electric cable by clamps in longitudinal slot. Invention protects electric cable from damage at lowering and lifting of pumps in oil and water wells.
