FIELD: mining engineering; wetting dust in mine workings. SUBSTANCE: steam generator has housing, heating element, water feed and water discharge systems; heating element is essentially compression chamber formed by housing and piston displacing therein which is provided with internal sealing rings; water feed system is made in the form pf cyclic- action spray nozzle; steam generator is provided with air admission and steam outlet synchronizing device in the form of air admission and steam discharge valves, valve camshafts are coupled through crankshaft with high-pressure plunger pump and cyclic-action spray nozzle. Steam formed in the course of operation of proposed device will penetrate even in most hard-to-get-at places of mine working such as supported face wherein great amount of explosive coal dust accumulates. Cooled- down steam transformed into condensate moistens coal dust thereby making it nonexplosive. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of steam generator. 2 cl
