FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: auditory canal of tested ear should be hermetically obturated with rubber olive with hollow canal inside connected with alcoholic manometer. Higher pressure is registered for 3-5 min in tympanic cavity. At its level within 0-15 mm alcoholic column one should predict favorable result of tympanoplasty, at increased pressure up to 16-30 mm - doubtful result, and at pressure above 30 mm alcoholic column - unfavorable result of tympanoplasty is stated on. The suggested method enables to predict results more accurately in case of tympanoplasty and other hearing- improving operations, detail indications and contraindications for operative treatment of chronic perforating otitis media, provide differentiated approach to conservative treatment of auditory tube during preoperational period.
