FIELD: inorganic compounds technology. SUBSTANCE: invention provides powdered nickel hydroxide with X-ray crystallinity index higher than 1 with concentration of amorphous phase close to zero for green fine-crystalline spheroid grains with average grain diameter between 10 and 12 microns, grain distribution dispersion G = 4-8, and specific capacity 0.265 A/h/g/. Powder is prepared by interaction of nickel nitrate hexahydrate, heated in its crystallization water at temperature above 60 C, with KOH/LiOH hydroxide mixture with density 1.10-1.35 g/cu.cm at pH 10.05-12.5 during 5 to 30 min, after which resulting precipitate is pressed on nutsch filter, repetitively washed with potassium acetate solution and then exposed to vacuum at pressure 1-10 Pa and temperature 80-110 C for 0.5-1 h before being finely screened. EFFECT: reduced fineness of powder, increased crystallinity of product, and diminished adsorption activity toward space impurities of N, K, and Mg metals. 3 cl, 2 tbl
