FIELD: applied gas dynamics, applicable for investigation of objects and constructions for mechanical action of fluctuation pressures. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in the fact that a fine- disperse aerosol cloud is produced by ejection of liquid fuel by a powder charge through the channel of fuel delivery and a sprayer, its detonation is initiated by blasting of the charge of the trinitrotoluene exploder. Forming of the fine- disperse aerosol cloud of the fuel-air mixture is effected in the charging section of the shock tube in the form of a horizontal cylinder, and the fuel mass is calculated depending on the preset value of positive pressure in the front of the generated air shock wave and the distance from object of tests and the place of bursting of the fuel-air mixture. The device realizing the method has a sealed chamber with liquid fuel and powder charge, fuel feeding channels, sprayer, as well as an initiation system, the sprayer is positioned in the shock tube, located in the axis of the shock tube channel, made composite in the form of several, for example two aligned horizontal channels, with equidistant, transverse, opposite-directed sector slots with an opening angle of 165 to 175 deg made along their axis and a vertical axis of symmetry, and the distance between the slots is determined by calculation.
