FIELD: mechanical engineering; conveyors. SUBSTANCE: proposed overhead conveyor contains support frame with closed tubular guides secured at both sides of conveyor on said frame, endless conveyor belt connected with hangers installed for movement along tubular guide and being connected with belt either directly or by means of intermediate members. Hangers are connected from outer side of conveyor curvilinear section by means of endless chain to transmit pulling force to belt through hangers or other structural members. Said chain is laid over deflecting sprockets or rollers on curvilinear section. Rollers and sprockets take up radial forces. Parameters of conveyor at pitch of hangers exceeding 60% of belt width should satisfy the following condition: where R is radius of curvature of conveyor axis, mm; s is pitch of hangers, mm; B is width of belt, mm. Invention improves reliability of conveyor at transportation of loads along curvilinear trajectory in horizontal plane by preventing loading of belt by additional stretching efforts and reducing radial loads on hangers and belt, especially on its return run.
