SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmaceutical composition for treatment of patients with diseases inducing appearance of iron excess in human or animal body or stipulated by them. The composition comprises at least one compound of the formula (I) where R1 and R5 mean simultaneously or independently each of other hydrogen, halogen atom, hydroxyl, C1-C4-alkyl, halide--C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy-group, halide-C-C4-alkoxy-group, halide-C1-C4-alkoxy-group, carboxyl, carbamoyl, N-, C1-C4-alkylcarbamoyl, N, N-di-C1-C4-alkyl-carbamoyl or nitrile; R2 and R4 mean simultaneously or independently each of other hydrogen atom, C1-C4-alkanoyl, benzoyl, toluyl, naphthoyl or para-methoxybenzoyl either radical that can be removed in physiological medium; R3 means hydrogen atom, C1-C4-alkyl, hydroxy-C1-C4-alkyl, halide-C1-C4-alkyl, carboxy-C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl-C1-C4-alkyl, R6R7N-C(O)-C1-C4-alkyl, unsubstituted phenyl or phenyl substituted with carboxyl, nitro-group, halogen atom, C1-C4-alkoxy-group, C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl or group R8R9N-(CO)-, phenyl-C1-C4-alkyl, para-chlorobenzyl, ortho-fluorobenzyl, para-tolylmethyl, para-di-C1-C4-alkylaminobenzyl, para-cyanobenzyl, para-pyrrolidinobenzyl or unsubstituted pyridyl or pyridyl bound through C1-C4-alkylene group; R6 and R7 mean simultaneously or independently each of other hydrogen atom, C1-C4-alkyl, hydroxy--C1-C4-alkyl, alkoxy- -C1-C4-alkyl, hydroxyalkoxy--C1-C4/ -alkyl, amino-C1-C4-alkyl, N-C1-C4-alkyl- amino-C1-C4-alkyl, N,N-di--C1-C4-alkylamino-C1-C4-alkyl, N-(hydroxy-C1-C4- alkyl)amino-C1-C4-alkyl, N, N-di-(hydroxy-C1-C4-alkyl)amino-C1-C4-alkyl, benzyl-4-morpholinoethyl, (4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)ethyl or in common with nitrogen atom to which they are bound form morpholino-group or 4-methylpiperazino-group; R8 and R9 in common with nitrogen atom to which they are bound form morpholino-group or 4-methylpiperazino-group, or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; novel compounds falling within the general formula (I) and pharmaceutical composition comprising novel compounds.
