FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: fuel additive, in particular additive for motor car gasolines, used for lowering fuel loss from evaporation upon storage contains, wt %: fluorine-containing quaternary ammonium salt of formula C₈F₁₇CONCHC₃H₆N(C₂H₄OH)(CH₃)₂Cl, 1-3; polyether based on ethylene oxide and propylene oxide with molecular weight 2501, 3-7; phthalic acid dinonyl ester, 1-3; phthalic acid dibutyl ester, 1-3; and 1-butanol, the balance. Use of additive lowers evaporation loss under tank storage conditions by 42.0-44.4% or by 1.3-3.7% as compared to known additive. EFFECT: increased antievaporation efficiency and achieved 200-fold reduction in concentration of additive in fuel. 2 tbl
