FIELD: acoustic measurements, measurement of speed on sound in natural water basins. SUBSTANCE: proposed pulse digital meter of speed of sound includes reversible acoustic converter and reflector spaced away from converter to fixed distance. Converter is connected to pulse generator and to receiving amplifier, timer selector of k-th received pulse ( k = 1, 2, ...m ), analog-to-digital converter, storage circuit, digital computer and data output unit connected in series. Digital computer incorporates unit establishing extremum, unit determining time intervals and unit finding speed of sound. EFFECT: diminished effect of fluctuations of amplitude of received ultrasonic pulses on result of measurement of time intervals. 3 dwg
