FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: one should carry out ultrasound scanning of artery under testing to obtain series of two-dimensional intravascular pictures. One should perform synthesis of volumetric pictures to obtain three-dimensional reconstruction of arterial section in gray- colored gradation. The latter undergoes chromatic segmenting by revealing location of atheromatosis substrate by applying hystogram for picture brightness intensity at chromatic detecting parts of different density. One should carry out synthesis of isometric picture of arterial section and due to removing display of segmented walls and arterial section's lumen one should detect volumetric picture of atheromatosis substrate with chromatically depicted parts of different density. The present innovation enables to obtain necessary information on morphology and spatial configuration of atheromatosis substrate during patient's life period and conclude upon its structure and density due to chromatic picture obtained.
