FIELD: medicine; diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: patient's femoral artery is examined in area, in which superficial and deep femoral veins merge with affected zone in arterial wall and in adjoining to it paravasal fatty tissue, followed by determining number of most frequently occurring pixels in affected zone (L) in relation to projection of point L. Next base of grey colored scale is divided into two intervals expressed in units of that same scale. Ratio is determined of section extending from beginning of scale up to projection of point L, to length of section extending from point L up to end of curve. If ratio thus-established is greater than normal value, disease case is diagnosed. EFFECT: greater accuracy of diagnosis; course of atherosclerotic process can be followed. 2 dwg
