FIELD: aircraft instrumentation engineering; determination of mass of fuel in each tank and total mass of fuel. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes measurement of present parameters of fuel: level, temperature and characteristic parameters such as heat conductivity, dielectric permeability and light absorption in each tank. Level of fuel is measured in at least three points not lying on one straight line. Volume of fuel in tank is determined in on-board computer by its level with geometric characteristics of tank taken into account. Grade of fuel or ratio of grades is determined in on-board computer by characteristic parameters and temperature of fuel. Density of fuel is determined in on-board computer by grade or ratio of grades and temperature; mass of fuel in each tank and total mass fuel are found by its volume. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of mass of fuel at spread of temperatures and grades. 1 dwg
