FIELD: abrasives. SUBSTANCE: normal electrocorundum is manufactured by melting crude bauxite charge, which is portionwise charged into furnace: first 50- 90% of the total charge with 10- 30% iron, silicon, and titanium oxides and then, from above, portion containing 3-7% of indicated impurities. EFFECT: reduced (by 20%) power consumption, reduced melting time, and increased productivity. 1 tbl
