SUBSTANCE: pin-type insulator has cap with hole provided with longitudinal slit to receive current-carrying conductor and to draw it through cap when installing insulator on power transmission line; lock is made as separate part that functions to prevent spontaneous escape of conductor from hole through slit. Lock is inserted in longitudinal slit so that its displacement from cap during conductor drawing through hole relative to center line of this conductor is made impossible. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of insulator in the course of erection of current-carrying conductor on power transmission line supports. 1 cl, 3 dwg
