FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of birds from electric shock during operation of power transmission lines, protection of power transmission lines from negative impact of products of vital activity of birds in places of attachment of current-carrying wires to poles of power transmission lines. Bird protection device is made of dielectric material and comprises protective casing consisting of two parts connected to each other by means of side fasteners. Protective casing is made open at the bottom. Its parts are equipped with retainers and are of different length. Short part of the casing is equipped with vertical projections made on its end, which is adjacent to the long part of the casing, and located on its inner side surfaces, and a cutout made on its upper surface. Long part of the casing is equipped with vertical grooves made on its end facing the short part of the casing, located on its outer side surfaces and corresponding to vertical protrusions of the short part, and a cutout made on its upper surface. End of the long part of the casing, which is remote from its short part, is equipped with a corrugation element and a straight section located between the corrugation element and the specified end of the long part. Parts of the casing are connected to each other with the possibility of forming a hole for the wire by means of cuts made on their upper surfaces, or without its formation. Retainer of the short part of the casing is placed at its end, which is remote from the long part of the casing, and is made with the possibility of fixing the casing against longitudinal and transverse movements and against rotation around the axis of the wire. Retainer of the long part of the casing is installed in its straight section and is made with the possibility of fixing the casing against transverse movements.
EFFECT: bird protection device is characterized by increased electrical safety for birds.
