FIELD: recombining hydrogen and oxygen formed in storage battery into water. SUBSTANCE: device 1 has connecting pipe 2 for gas-tight connection of device to storage battery, tank 4 gas-tight relative to atmosphere that accommodates recombining member and passage for gas-tight conveying of gas from connecting pipe 2 to tank 4 and discharging water in reverse direction. Apart from mentioned passage there is positive-displacement zone 6 communicating with atmosphere but separated from flame by means of shielding member 7; mentioned passage communicates with positive-displacement zone through hole provided for the purpose.
