METHOD OR RECEPTION OF MULTIBEAM SIGNAL, PROCESS MONITORING DELAY AND SIZE OF CLUSTER OF BEAM SIGNALS AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2208912 C1

FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention specifically refers to method of reception of multibeam signal, to process monitoring delay and size of cluster of beam signals and to device for its realization. It can be employed in cellular radio communication with code-division multiple access. Proposed group of inventions is integrated in single project that runs as follows: groups of signals, clusters of beam signals and isolated beam signals are extracted from isolated beam signals, delay of single beam signals and delay and size of clusters of beam signals are monitored. Delay and size of cluster of beam signals are periodically corrected by way of detection of beam signals on adjacent positions with reference to extreme beam signals of cluster of beam signals. Decision on appearance of additional beam signal in cluster of beam signals is made, if beam signal is detected, by comparison of level of extreme beam signals in cluster of beam signals with specified threshold. Decision on disappearance of beam signal in cluster of beam signals is taken if levels of one or two extreme beam signals in cluster of beam signals is beneath specified threshold. Then clusters of beam signals are demodulated to form soft decision of demodulated clusters of beam signals and single beam signals are demodulated to form soft decisions of demodulated single beam signals. Thereupon soft decisions of demodulated clusters of beam signals and soft decisions of demodulated single beam signals are integrated. Obtained value is used to define received information symbol. Device for reception of multibeam signal has detector for signal search, K demodulators, controller, unit integrating symbols and unit monitoring delays and sizes of clusters of beam signals. EFFECT: increased noise immunity of reception of multibeam signal under conditions of fast fading. 6 cl, 12 dwg
