FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: one should carry out incision in inferior-external quadrant of eyeball, conjunctiva and Tenon's capsule. Tunnel is formed in projection above macular area up to posterior ocular pole. In this tunnel one should place elastic magnetic implant at diametric magnetization being 5-10 mTl. Suture and monocular bandage are applied onto conjunctiva. Implant should be removed in 90-180 d after operation. Magnet is designed to be either ring- or C- shaped one. The suggested method enables to achieve accelerated resorption of subretinal hemorrhages, macular edema and obliteration of newly developed vessels that leads to stabilization of visual functions. EFFECT: higher efficiency of operation. 3 cl
