DEVICE FOR MEN LOWERING BY GRAVITY UNDER EXTREMAL CONDITIONS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: men lowering by gravity in fires from stories of firing buildings, in mine-rescue operations under extremal conditions, in men evaluation. SUBSTANCE: device has rope drum with flexible carrying member with catch, belt and straps for fixing to body of rescued man, braking mechanism made in form of concentrically mounted stator and rotor with intermediate space between them filled with viscous fluid, and immovable body. Made in cylindrical stator of braking mechanism installed in same axis with rope drum is eccentric cylindrical bore. Installed along axis of cylindrical stator rigidly on common shaft with rope drum tangent to bore wall is cylindrical rotor forming sickle-shaped cavity in stator bore. Rotor is made with longitudinal cylindrical recess on side surface. Installed along axis of said side surface is prismatic displacer formed by two intersecting cylindrical surfaces, one of which is equal to radius of cylindrical recess, and the other equaling rotor radius. In assembly rotor and displacer comprise full cylinder. Displacer has system ensuring constant engagement of displacer working rib with inner surface of stator cylindrical recess. Beginning and end of sickle-shaped cavity are communicated by channel accommodating locking-and- regulating device for regulation of channel open area up to its complete closing. Device provides for variation of lowering speed to suit the lowered man. EFFECT: higher efficiency of use. 5 cl, 6 dwg
