FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: treatment is accomplished by way of combined and simultaneous oxidation of phenols with activated sludge and hydrogen peroxide. Activated sludge is preliminarily adapted for 1.5-3 months to concentrations of phenol up to 3.0 g/l and that of hydrogen peroxide up to 3.0 g/l with no loss in biological oxidation intensity. EFFECT: increased oxidation-accessible concentrations of phenol in waste waters (to 3 g/l) and considerably increased phenol oxidation rate. 1 tbl, 2 ex
