FIELD: determination of gas and liquid flow rates by constant pressure differential. SUBSTANCE: proposed rotameter has glass or plastic cylindrical tube with n diaphragms, where n=2,3,4, etc. Float fitted on rod is movably mounted inside said tube ; said float is made in form of truncated cone with lesser section towards base. Diameter of measuring orifice of diaphragms is smoothly increased from inlet of rotameter to its outlet; it is determined by formula given in Specification. Length of float l=(1.2-1.3)L, where L is distance between adjacent diaphragms. Rotameter is simple in construction ensuring stable motion of float at increased flow rate.
