FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in rotameters designed to measure flow rate of gas, for instance, air. Float in the form of body of revolution is made of lower conical part, middle cylindrical part and upper truncated cone transforming into cylindrical collar. Upper end face of cylindrical part is connected to smaller base of truncated cone and lower end face of cylindrical surface is base of lower cone which vertex coincides with vertex of truncated cone. Selection of float dimensions: diameter of cylindrical part, heights of truncated cone and collar, angle by vertex of cones provide for expansion of measurement range and for increased measurement accuracy. Presence of similar angles by vertexes of conical surfaces simplifies technology of machining of floats.
