FIELD: measurement technology; measurement of gas and liquid flow rate. SUBSTANCE: proposed rotameter includes cylindrical tube where guide rod with float and motion limiters is arranged. Said cylindrical rod is provided with at least two slots of varying depth: minimum depth at rotameter inlet and maximum depth at its outlet. Length of each slot exceeds travel of float. Area of slot in section perpendicular to axis of rotameter corresponding to maximum flow rate is determined by mathematical expression given in description.
