FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device includes a cylindrical microwave resonator (1) connected to a generator and a detector, and a rotametre (7, 8). The resonator is filled with dielectric (2) with low loss at operating frequency. A conical cavity for the rotametre is made in the dielectric. Rotametre floats (8), made from low-loss dielectric material are placed in the cavity. In the top part of the microwave resonator there is a circular dielectric plate (3) made from material whose dielectric permittivity is considerably higher than that of the dielectric (2). TE011 oscillations are generated in the resonator.
EFFECT: invention increases measurement accuracy at high operation pressure in a wide range of gas flow rates, enables continuous and automatic measurement.
