FIELD: ultrasonic nondestructive quality inspection of materials and articles, specifically, quality of railway bed. SUBSTANCE: in given ultrasonic converter incorporating case, acoustic inclined prism, piezoelement anchored on upper base of prism main damper forms inside case space filled with additional damper embracing nonworking surface of piezoelement and partially side surface of prism. Additional damper is supplemented with compensators of temperature expansion produced from porous material, density of material of additional damper exceeds density of material of main damper. EFFECT: raised functional stability, widened operational temperature range, enhanced operational and technological capabilities. 1 cl, 1 dwg
